Show love for York with the #iloveyorkcity hashtag during First Friday festivities downtown. (Shorter version is #ilyc.) Shop for your sweetheart, dine and peruse art and deals to your heart’s content 5 to 9 p.m. Offerings include:

Art and openings:
– Rudy Art Glass and Salvaging Creativity are partnering on Working Class, an industrial art and design creation center that offers equipment, training and consulting to the public at 15 E. Philadelphia St. this fall. Working Class will host community meetings for anyone interested in the project First Fridays at 25 E. Philadelphia St., York. The first gathering is planned for 6 p.m. Feb. 7. FlipSide reporter Erin McCracken will see you there!
– Celebrate the opening reception of “Uncovered” — a show of nude drawings, paintings and photography — 6 to 9 p.m. at The Parliament, 116 E. King St.
– York College will present its second Salon des Refusés Exhibition, a display of student artwork not selected for the Annual Juried Student Exhibition, at Marketview Arts, 37 W. Philadelphia St. The opening reception is 5 to 7 p.m.
– Featured curator Breon Gilleran will present her exhibit “A Cause For Optimism; Definitions of Printmaking” with an opening reception Thursday, Feb. 6. See it 5 to 9 p.m. at YorkArts, 10 N. Beaver St.

New and notable:
– Pick up an I Love York City tote at Sunrise Soap Co., 29 N. Beaver St.
– Discover CrossFit York, rear part of 147 W. Philadelphia St. Do a free workout 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
YorShoppes will be setting up shop at 116 N. George St. A variety of vendors will be at the open house.
CoWork155, 155 W. Market St., will be the #iloveyorkcity headquarters 5 to 8 p.m. Pose in the photo booth, check out a new logo and be one of the first 25 visitors to get a free koozie.
– Attend the Champagne and Cupcake Kick-off to preview the “I do. Me too.” Indie Wedding Show 7 to 9 p.m. in third-floor Gallery Hall at Marketview Arts, 37 W. Philadelphia St.
Lotus Moon Yoga, 36 N. Beaver St., is celebrating its 3rd birthday at 5:30 p.m. with yoga, music, art, healthy food, tarot readings, massage, and more. It’s also the launch party for the studio’s Collective Cleanse.
Arthur & Daughters, 49 N. Beaver St., presents the Laundrea Spring 2014 Trunk Show Friday. Meet designer Rachel Godwin noon to 2 p.m. and shop the Spring 2014 Laundrea Collection during First Friday. RSVP to hilary@arthuranddaughters.com or call 646-269-1869.
– The First Friday late-night film series continues with “Animal House” 10 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre, 50 N. George St. Tickets are $7.

Food, music and fun:
– BPO Elks Lodge No. 213, 223 N. George St., will host a three-day Beatles Extravaganza Feb. 7 to 9. The celebration kicks off with a party 7 to 10 p.m. First Friday — the 50th anniversary of The Beatles landing in America. The will be live music, and food will be available.
– Hear the monthly Jazz in the City concert 5 to 7 p.m. in the Studio at the Strand, located just West of the intersection of Philadelphia and George streets. Tickets are $3 or free with student ID.
Maewyn’s Irish Pub, 110 N. George St., is hosting a contest. Tweet a message/picture about what you’re eating/drinking 5 to 9 p.m. for the chance to win a prize. Use #YorksIrishPub in your tweet to enter.
Bair’s Fried Chicken in Central Market, 34 W. Philadelphia St., will host an #iloveyorkcity #ilovetacos event.
The York Emporium, 343 W Market St., will host a free “An Inappropriate Valentine Day’s Concert” 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
